The NExT Search Center at National University of Singapore invites applicants for multiple job openings under the Jiku Project, at the level of:

  • Postdoctoral Research Fellow
  • Research Assistant

Candidates should have experience in TWO or more of the following:

  • Research: planning and executing scientific research on ONE or more of the following topics:
    • audio analysis
    • video content analysis
    • video compression and processing
    • mobile computing
  • Software Engineering: gathering user requirements, producing clean software design, and implementing the design with clean, efficient, and well-documented code in popular programming languages (C, C++, Java, etc.), using UNIX-like programming tools (gcc, make, svn etc.).
  • Software Project Management: leading a software engineering team using modern software engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Technopreneurship: skills in pitching ideas, building business models, writing start-up proposals, etc.

Other desirable skills include communication (in English), ability to work in a team, problem solving, logical and critical thinking, and learning skills.

The candidates for Postdoctoral Research Fellow position must demonstrate research experience through peer-reviewed publications in reputable conferences or journals. Candidate must have already obtained his or her Ph.D. degree in CS, EE, or relevant field by the time the candidate joins. Candidates near graduation may be considered for a Research Associate position.

The candidates for Research Assistant position must have a Bachelor degree or a Master degree in CS, EE, or relevant field.

Successful candidates will join a team of faculty members, research staff, and Ph.D. students and contribute to research, development, and technology transfer of Jiku.

The positions are available immediately. Successful candidates will be offered to fill the position until April 2015 and a salary package of $5000-$7000 per month (for research fellow) and $3000-$4000 per month (for research assistant).
